Rhinoplasty (Nose Job) in Oklahoma City

Rhinoplasty can be life-changing. Dr. Wayne’s patients see the most natural, beautiful results with an easy recovery.

The nose is the most defining characteristic of the face, and even a slight alteration can shift the balance of the eyes, lips, and jawline. Done thoughtfully, rhinoplasty draws attention toward your best features rather than toward the nose itself. That is why the consultation process matters. Your surgeon should listen carefully, evaluate how your nose relates to your facial structure, and build a realistic plan with you.

At W Facial Aesthetics, Dr. Ivan Wayne is devoted exclusively to aesthetic surgery of the face. His approach is centered on natural, rejuvenated results, never tight, overdone, or unnatural. Every rhinoplasty plan is personalized to your anatomy, your goals, and the small details that make your face uniquely yours.

How Rhinoplasty Works

Rhinoplasty reshapes the framework of the nose, which is made of bone, cartilage, soft tissue, and skin. Because the outer shape and the inner airway are connected, changes to the bridge or tip can also influence airflow through the nasal passages. In fact, many traditional maneuvers naturally narrow the inside of the nose. Without the right counterbalancing techniques, that narrowing can restrict breathing.

A modern rhinoplasty plan considers both form and function from the start. Rather than simply removing cartilage and bone, Dr. Wayne often reinforces and supports key areas so the nose maintains strength, stability, and a natural look for years. That support can also help protect or improve breathing, especially in noses that have a deviation, weakness, or collapse.

During your visit, photographs are taken and reviewed together. Computer imaging can help you see how certain refinements may change your profile and front view, so you can be part of the planning process. The goal is clarity and alignment, not surprise. When patients understand the plan, they tend to feel calmer going into surgery and more confident during recovery. Rhinoplasty is one of the most technical procedures in facial plastic surgery. It demands an understanding of nasal anatomy, facial harmony, and long-term healing behavior. Even the best plan must be executed with careful, measured adjustments so swelling resolves in a predictable way and the final result looks effortless.

The Different Types of Rhinoplasty

  • Revision Rhinoplasty
  • Origami Rhinoplasty
  • Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty
  • Preservation Rhinoplasty
  • Male Rhinoplasty
  • Liquid Nose Job

Rhinoplasty offers a range of techniques tailored to address specific aesthetic or functional goals. Each approach is designed to achieve precise results, but selecting the best technique depends on your unique needs and facial structure. During your consultation, Dr. Wayne will evaluate your goals and recommend the most suitable option to ensure a personalized and effective outcome.

Revision Rhinoplasty

The best chance of getting a perfect result in rhinoplasty is with the first surgery. Many factors contribute to the need for revision surgery on the nose. Breathing problems, pinching, twisting, lumps and bumps all may appear in the healing process. Most of these are due to surgical errors; however, some are unavoidable. Healing after surgery is very unpredictable, as the nose must adapt to the new structure formed under the skin.

Revision rhinoplasty is performed to correct unsatisfactory results from an initial nasal surgery. Sometimes the surgery is simple, requiring minor adjustments or finishing an incomplete surgery. At other times, this surgery may require more complex grafting and rebuilding of a weakened nose. Each succeeding rhinoplasty becomes more difficult, which is why an experienced, specialized facial plastic surgeon, such as Dr. Wayne, is the best choice for this procedure.

Origami Rhinoplasty

At W Facial Aesthetics, we have developed a special technique called the Origami Rhinoplasty. This way of doing the Rhinoplasty is the result of over 20 years of experience performing the surgery, creating what we believe is a long-lasting, natural result. This technique avoids the cutting and removal of cartilage and bone that are more common in the traditional Rhinoplasty surgery, the Origami Rhinoplasty technique uses gentle restructuring of the tissue and cartilage for a more natural-looking nose.

Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty

W Facial Aesthetics proudly offers ultrasonic rhinoplasty, a groundbreaking technique that reshapes the nose and makes it appear more proportional. With fewer risks than a traditional nose job and a faster recovery time, this advanced procedure uses high-speed ultrasonic sound waves to refine the nose bone, in addition to shaving down the cartilage in the nose, without causing any damage to the soft tissue surrounding it. By harnessing the power of ultrasonic energy, ultrasonic rhinoplasty promises unparalleled precision, reduced tissue trauma, and a smoother, more shapely nose. Dive deeper and explore this innovative nose-reshaping procedure with our team of experts.

Preservation Rhinoplasty

Preservation rhinoplasty offers a harmonious balance between aesthetic refinement and functional integrity. Our approach at W Facial Aesthetics is tailored to preserve your nose’s natural form while enhancing its overall appearance. With minimal downtime and a focus on long-term results, our preservation rhinoplasty stands as a testament to modern surgical artistry. This technique is a transformative endeavor that maintains the uniqueness of your facial features and supports the structural foundation of your nose. By opting for preservation rhinoplasty, you’re choosing a path of subtle yet significant change, safeguarding the essence of your natural look while promoting a refreshed, rejuvenated appearance.

Male Rhinoplasty

Male rhinoplasty is a specialized nose job for men designed to enhance the appearance and function of the nose while maintaining a masculine aesthetic. This surgery can address issues such as nasal asymmetry, bumps, or deviations, and can improve breathing difficulties caused by structural abnormalities. Our skilled facial plastic surgeons understand the unique anatomical differences and aesthetic goals of male patients, ensuring a natural-looking result that complements your facial features. Whether for cosmetic reasons or to correct nasal function, our tailored approach to male rhinoplasty aims to deliver balanced, refined outcomes with minimal downtime.

Liquid Nose Job (Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty)

A liquid nose job, also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to enhance the appearance of your nose without the need for surgery. This innovative technique involves the skillful injection of dermal fillers, such as hyaluronic acid-based products, into strategic areas of the nose to reshape and refine its contours.

Some key benefits include:

  • Quick and Convenient
  • No Downtime
  • Customized Results
  • Non-Permanent
  • Minimal Discomfort

What a Nose Job Can Address

Rhinoplasty can be planned to address one concern or several at once. Common goals include:

  • A bridge that looks prominent or uneven
  • A tip that feels boxy, droops, or lacks definition
  • Width through the nasal bones or nostrils
  • Asymmetry from genetics or previous trauma
  • A profile that feels out of balance with the rest of your face
  • Breathing concerns related to internal structure

Because the nose sits at the center of the face, small changes can have an outsized impact on overall balance. The goal is a nose that looks like it belongs on you—at rest and in motion, in photos and in real life.

A productive way to think about goals is to separate them into priorities. What is the one change that would make the biggest difference for you? What features do you want to keep? Clear priorities help your surgeon design changes that are noticeable to you, without looking “done” to everyone else.

Planning With Your Rhinoplasty Surgeon

Rhinoplasty success begins with a clear plan. In your consultation, Dr. Wayne evaluates the nasal framework, skin thickness, facial proportions, and breathing mechanics. You will discuss what you like about your nose, what you would like to improve, and what would feel like a natural result for you. If breathing is a concern, your evaluation should include the internal structures that influence airflow and any weaknesses that could worsen if the nose is narrowed.

A helpful way to think about rhinoplasty planning is to prioritize three goals at the same time: harmony, support, and airway. Harmony means the nose fits your face from every angle. Support means the nose holds its shape as swelling resolves and time passes. Airway means you breathe comfortably during exercise, sleep, and everyday life. When one of these goals is ignored, patients can end up with a nose that looks unnatural, feels unstable, or does not breathe well.

Rhinoplasty Recovery

Recovery is typically described as an early phase and a long-term phase. In the first week, most patients have congestion and swelling, and an external splint may be used. Bruising and swelling vary based on the techniques used and your individual healing response. Many patients return to non-strenuous activities within about one to two weeks, but the nose continues refining for months as swelling slowly resolves, especially at the tip.

To make recovery easier, plan for rest, head elevation, and gentle activity. Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous exercise until you are cleared. Protect your nose from accidental bumps, and follow your postoperative instructions closely. A simple example: if you normally wear glasses, your team will guide you on safe timing and options so you do not place pressure on healing nasal bones.

If your goals include both cosmetic refinement and improved breathing, it is important to choose a surgeon who understands how aesthetic changes influence function. The details of cartilage support, nasal valve stability, and structural balance are not visible in a single before-and-after photo, but they are often what determine whether you love your result in the long run.

Schedule Your Rhinoplasty Consultation

Rhinoplasty is one of the most detailed procedures in facial plastic surgery, and planning is everything. In your consultation, Dr. Wayne will walk you through how changes to bone and cartilage can affect the inside of the nose and breathing. Rather than simply removing structure, the plan may include reinforcement techniques that help the nose look better, breathe better, and age well. You’ll review goals, discuss your ideal level of change, subtle or more noticeable, and leave with clear next steps. Rhinoplasty FAQs

While rhinoplasty and a nose job are the same in nature and both have the same meaning, the use of these two terms will differ depending on the audience you are speaking with. Rhinoplasty is a medical term that a plastic surgeon would use when altering a patient’s nose shape and size. However, once healed, their patient might refer to it as a nose job when discussing the procedure while amongst their peers.

Rhinoplasty is a very in-demand procedure, and it is one of the most well-known procedures performed on the nose, although it is not the only one. For example, septoplasty and turbinate reduction are also procedures that can impact an individual’s nose’s appearance and airflow. But unlike rhinoplasty, these other existing procedures aren’t performed solely for cosmetic purposes.

Here at W. Facial Aesthetics, we generally schedule patients for their procedure four to six weeks after the consultation.

An important factor that can delay your rhinoplasty procedure is your overall health. The surgeon will review your medical history, and provide you with a timeline and the soonest date that you can schedule your procedure.

If you are interested in rhinoplasty but have yet to schedule a consultation, Dr. Ivan Wayne and our patient care team are ready when you are. Contact us and book an appointment today.

It is completely normal to have some concerns about the level of pain that may come with a rhinoplasty. Unlike non-invasive procedures, it is common for minimally-invasive procedures such as rhinoplasty to come with a little discomfort. However, once you have fully healed, you can expect long-lasting results, if you properly abided by the post-op instructions.

When it comes to rhinoplasty, it is estimated that 72 hours after the procedure, any pain you experience will begin to subside. It can take longer to heal in special circumstances, like if your nose is bumped or if an infection were to occur. The average patient experiences mild swelling, and the area can remain tender for up to three months after the procedure.

Healing from rhinoplasty can seem like a rather lengthy process. It takes the average patient anywhere from five to six weeks to fully recover from their rhinoplasty procedure. Throughout this timeline, there are these levels of healing stages you can expect to see:

  • Week 2: The patient can return to work and enjoy low-impact activities
  • Week 3: The patient’s swelling levels should have reduced by around 70%.
  • Week 4: The patient results should be more prominent; almost fully recovered.
  • Week 5: The patient can increase activity levels by around 80%.
  • Week 6: The patient’s nose is strong, and its shape has developed; can resume activity at 100%.

While this recovery timeframe can be accurate for some patients, it may not be realistic for all, so it’s vital to make sure your plastic surgeon takes the necessary time to get to know each patient.

At W. Facial Aesthetics, Dr. Ivan Wayne takes pride in getting to know each patient and their unique needs, creating a personalized plan, so each patient can achieve the results they desire.

While there are no age requirements for a nose job, the average rhinoplasty client is around 18 to 40 years of age. Remember, a nose job is a permanent procedure requiring mental stability, maturity, and of course, a sense of responsibility.

With that being said, some rhinoplasty recipients can be as young as 15 years old. In fact, most doctors will not perform rhinoplasty on teenagers until their nasal growth is complete (around 15 years old for girls and 16 years old for boys).

The duration of rhinoplasty procedures can last anywhere between one to four hours. Patients will be given anesthesia, so they will not be conscious during the procedure.

If properly maintained, the results of your nose job can last a lifetime. Since this procedure is designed to permanently alter the appearance of your nose, there is no specific time frame where you can anticipate your results wearing off.

Life after rhinoplasty is like a dream. You’re finally beginning to see the results that you desired, and things seem like they are returning to normal. But remember, you are still healing, and directly after having a nose job, there are still things you can do that can have a negative impact on your results.

As a result, we advise patients to avoid the following activities:

  • Heavy lifting or strenuous exercise
  • Blowing your nose
  • Wearing glasses on your nose for long periods of time
  • Go swimming
  • Sunbathe
  • Anything that could cause harm to your new nose

After rhinoplasty, the way you sleep can be essential to how well your nose will heal. Keeping your head elevated is key to preventing swelling and congestion from occurring. Your surgeon may also suggest that you do not sleep on your stomach or side for several weeks (generally 10-14 days) until you recover.

To fully elevate your nose, you can place two pillows under your neck, while lying flat on your back. Please avoid tilting your head back, as it could cause congestion and strain your healing nostrils.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in putting unnecessary pressure on your nose, which can impact your results.

Like any surgery, there are risks that can occur when you make the decision to undergo rhinoplasty. For starters, since it will require that patients be sedated, issues with anesthesia and uncommon reactions are not fully out of the question.

Rhinoplasty lifts and carves your nose to perfection. Cosmetic nose surgery reduces the size of your nose; hence, these alterations can cause difficulty breathing.

Lack of following your surgeon’s instructions can also result in infections and skin discoloration from occurring. However, even some of the most common risks associated with rhinoplasty can be prevented by properly caring for your nose as it heals and abiding by your discharge instructions.

The cost of a nose job, or rhinoplasty, can truly vary. Your location, your coverage, and your plastic surgeon can all play into how much your procedure will cost in the end. Generally, a rhinoplasty procedure here at W Facial Aesthetics can range anywhere from $12,800-$14,300 depending on your individual goals and the specifics of your situation.

Since it’s a cosmetic procedure, most insurance companies will not cover the cost of a rhinoplasty procedure. That said, you will most likely be responsible for covering these expenses on your own.

Your decision to undergo rhinoplasty will be an investment in time and money. At W. Facial Aesthetics, we provide convenient financing options for our patients, and we have over 25 years of combined training and practice experience, which can help make your decision an educated and informative one.
